Below is a list of upcoming activities for Benton Park West area residents.

Zumba Classes

Mondays at 6:00-7:00 pm, Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2621 Utah

Curby Church will host Zumba classes on Mondays from 6-7 pm at $5.00 a session. For more info 314-771-0242.

Thursday Zumba instructor will hold Thursday Zumba classes at the Dunn-Marquette Recreation Center @ 4025 Minnesota Avenue @1:00 PM, Feb18 and 25. The Thursday Zumba classes at the recreation center are FREE. Thursday Zumba will return to Curby in March. More details to follow.

Cherokee Station Business Association Meeting

Thursday, February 18 at 5:30 pm, Nebula, 3400 S. Jefferson

CSBA Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:30pm. All business owners, residents, property owners, and anyone with an interest in Cherokee are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Cherokee Dart League Support Big Brothers Big Sisters

Thursday, February 18 at 6:00 pm, Irish Corner Pub, 1900 Cherokee

Benton Park West Neighborhood Association Meeting

Thursday, February 18 at 7:00 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Please join us to hear the neighborhood news and have a chance in interact with your neighbors, 3rd District police, aldermen and NSO. We will review upcoming events and activities. Maker of the Month with Artists: Dayna Kriz, "Exploration of the Sensual w/color, patterns and textures" and Eugenia Alexander, "Geometric Story Telling / creating interpret stories through geometric patterns and shapes." Five Star Senior Center Trivia Night

Saturday, February 20, Doors at 6 pm, Trivia at 7 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Admission: $25/person or tables of 8, $200. Limited to first 28 tables pain in full. Price includes beer, soda, water and light snacks. "Art. Work." Opening Reception

Saturday, February 20 from 6:00-10:00 pm, Westminster Press, 3156 Cherokee

Drawing from ceramics, printmaking, fiber, and weaving, “Art. Work.” examines the relationship between craftsmanship, art labor, entrepreneurship, and fine art. Featured work will be immediately available for purchase, with the majority of proceeds benefiting the artists. Beer, wine, and light refreshments will be provided. Gondo Poetry 34: CA Conrad and Rachel Eliza Griffiths

The gondo poetry series is pleased to present a reading by: CA Conrad and Rachel Eliza Griffiths. CA CONRAD is the author of eight books of poetry and essays, the latest ECODEVIANCE: (Soma)tics for the Future Wilderness (Wave Books) is the winner of the 2015 Believer Magazine Book Award. RACHEL ELIZA GRIFFITHS is a poet and photographer. She received the MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Currently, Griffiths teaches creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College and IAIA (Institute of American Indian Arts). She lives in Brooklyn, New York. Facebook Invite
