Earth Day Weekend Activities

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22. We're encouraging everyone to participate in some way. Here are a few activities for you to take action.

BPW Spring Alley Clean Up

Saturday, April 22 - Your Alley!

Time for our semi-annual alley clean up. We'll pick up trash, leaves, and any other debris to make our alleys safe to drive and use. Get to know your neighbors or catch up with old friends while we improve our neighborhood. If you're organizing a group, let us know and BPWNA will provide bottled water and donuts for the volunteers. *If it rains Saturday, consider the following weekend as well. Contact president@bentonparkwest.org for more information or visit our Events page.

10 Minute Litter Challenge

We all have 10 minutes a day we can spare; why not use it to make a difference? Benton Park West Neighborhood Association is challenging you to the 10 Minute Clean Up.

The 10 Minute Clean Up Challenge:

  • Select one BPW block; your block or an adjacent block

  • Take 10 minutes daily to pick up the litter; lawn to street

  • Do this throughout the year

  • Encourage your friends and neighbors to take the challenge

Share with us your before and after photos on our Facebook or email them to president@bentonparkwest.org for us to share.

Operation Brightside has litter grabbers, gloves, trash bags, wheelbarrows, rakes and shovels that you can borrow for the alley clean up or the litter challenge. Visit their site for details, www.brightsidestl.org.
