Black Funders of St. Louis First Annual Holiday Social

Friday, December 8 from 5:30-8:30 pm, DK Annex, 2727 S. Jefferson

The Black Funders of St. Louis, (BFSTL), First Annual Holiday Social and Fundraiser will be an evening to celebrate the holidays while collecting toys to benefit the families of the Sickle Cell Association. Adopt-a-Person Party 2017 Saturday, December 9 from 11 am- 2 pm, Benton Park Group Home, 2115 Arsenal

The 17th Annual Magdala Foundation Adopt a Person program hosted by the Hosea Team is having a Christmas Party! Please join 17 adult mentally handicap individuals as a volunteer at the party.Please join in and help with picking up food for lunch; grab some ice for the drinks; serve food; take pictures of each person with Santa; help clean up. BPW Dog Park Christmas Party

Haunted Cherokee Street - Winter Walk

Saturday, December 9 from 7-8:30 pm, St. Louis Paranormal Research Society, 1820 Cherokee

On this 90 minute tour we'll discuss some of the strange and creepy holiday traditions celebrated by the areas early settlers. You'll be escorted through the haunted Lemp Bottleworks building where the level of paranormal activity only seems to increase! We'll make a stop inside Elder's Antique Store- St. Louis's oldest continuously running- and say hello to it's resident spirit, Mrs. Daws. Finally, feel free to warm up with a cup of hot cider and find that perfect last minute Krampus present for the person "who has everything" in our newly expanded retail shop! Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour

Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac

Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

Laughter Club

Tuesdays from 6-7 pm, Thomas Dunn Learning Center, 3113 Gasconade

Call It Like a Cop (with Cocktails)

So you're always told "Call it in!" but don't always feel comfortable or even know what to say! Well, we want to help you call it in like a pro. We bring you "Call It Like a Cop (with cocktails)." Neighborhood Liaison Officer Carl Whittaker will lead an informative and fun workshop to teach you the best way to call in suspicious or illegal activities in the neighborhood. Get more familiar with calling 911 or the non-emergency line, and know that it matters.You are invited and encouraged to bring your own adult refreshments and snacks. Black Tax Collective's Political Education

Tuesday, December 12 from 7-8:30 pm, Yeyo Arts, 2907 S. Jefferson

We are in the condition we are in not because of a lack of fun, a lack of vactions,a lack of jobs or a lack of ego but its because of a lack of knowledge( Afrikan centered knowledge). Black Tax Collective's policital education classes will bring knowledge to its attendees on a wide range of topics such as critical thinking, history & ourstory from an Afrikan centered view, war, and entertainment to name a few. Police Chief Candidate Town Hall

Thursday, December 14 from 6-8 pm, SLU Law School, 100 N Tucker, Room 1208

The City of St. Louis is hosting a moderated town hall with the (up to) six certified finalists on December 14th at 6 pm. This will be an opportunity to hear from the candidates themselves about their backgrounds, philosophies of policing, and what they hope to accomplish as Police Commissioner for the City of St. Louis. Central Patrol Community Outreach Meeting

Thursday, December 14 at 7 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

This is a very informative Community Outreach program conducted by our Central Patrol highlighting various police units, awarding of Grand Jury Good Citizenship awards etc.You may meet with your neighborhood officials, report nuisance properties, ask questions etc. The Third District includes the neighborhoods of Benton Park, Benton Park West, Compton Heights, Fox Park, Gravois Park, Kosciusko, Lafayette Square, Lasalle, Marine Villa, McKinley Heights, Peabody/Darst/Webbe, Soulard, The Gate District, Tower Grove East and portions of Dutchtown. Holiday Caroling

A caroling we go! Bring your friends and family–an instrument if you have one–and meet us at the bandstand. Dress warmly, this event will go on no matter the weather. Everyone is welcome!
