Cherokee Street Trashy Hour

Thursday, May 9 at 2:30-6 pm, Earthbound Beer, 2724 Cherokee

Trashy Hour will start with a beautification walk through part of the Cherokee Street Commercial District. We’ll meet up and break into teams as we tackle the job of making the streets free of litter! After we’ve picked up all that we can, we’ll meet back up at Earthbound for celebratory drinks. Back to School Planning Meeting 2

Thursday, May 9 at 6-7:30 pm, Last Days Apostolic Church, 3311 Pennsylvania

We're holding our 2nd planning meeting for Back-To-School. Last year, over 400 students were provided the tools they needed to success in school. We hope to assist 500 students this year. Community volunteers are needed as well as donations. Facebook Invite

2019 WashU MFA Thesis Exhibition

Friday, May 10 at 6-9 pm, The Luminary, 2701 Cherokee

The Sam Fox School's annual MFA Thesis Exhibition features work by the seventeen graduating students in the Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art Program at Washington University. Works in various media explore themes such as the politics of race, the role of gender, the poetics of the everyday, and utopian/dystopian futures. Facebook Invite

Time Share + Warm Welcome

Friday, May 10 at 7-10 pm, Monaco USA, 2701 Cherokee

Monaco is pleased to present two exhibitions curated by Jeff Robinson, 'Time Share' and 'Warm Welcome.' 'Time Share' makes reference to those dwellings with shared ownership as a lens for considering artist collectives like Monaco, and to engender a spirit of mutuality that is required in such communal spaces. Movie in Fox Park: Aquaman

Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 pm, Fox Park

UPDATE: New movie - AQUAMAN! Spend the evening under the stars with your neighbors watching Aquaman. Everyone is welcome! Bring your own chairs & blankets, food and refreshments. Movie will start at dusk, approximately 8:15pm. Fox Park T-shirts, koozies, and stickers will be available for purchase. We'll have free popcorn and music before the movie starts. Second Saturdays Gallery Walk

Art walk in the Cherokee Street Arts District second Saturdays of the month from 6-9PM. Participating businesses exhibiting various medias of art. Rotating galleries on Cherokee Street. Facebook Invite

Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour

Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac

Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

Gravois Park Neighborhood Meeting

Tuesday, May 14 at 6-7:30 pm, 3353 Cherokee (Enter rear of building)

Our monthly meetings are a great place to discuss issues important to you and your family, learn about resources and get updates on everything in and around Gravois Park and the 20th Ward but mostly, meet your neighbors. Bring an idea and neighbor or two! Facebook Invite

IISTL Young Friends May Meeting

Cherokee Street CID (formerly Cherokee Street Business Association) Public Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm. All business owners, residents, property owners, and anyone with an interest in Cherokee are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Benton Park West Neighborhood Meeting

Thursday, May 16 at 7-8 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Fox Park #trashtag Challenge

Saturday, May 18 at 1-4 pm, 2827 Oregon

Jump on the viral social media challenge that really does make a difference! The Fox Park Neighborhood Safety Committee, Messiah Community Center and Lohr Distributing Company are hosting a #trashtag Challenge! Grab a team, sign up with your social media handle, go out and clean up the community, post the pics, and come back for the after party of food, fun and games! Ice Cream Social FUN-raiser

Join us for our season finale FUNraiser for scholarship for TAP Teen Apprenticeships! This event will feature current artwork, fashion designs, and Pop-Up Shops by our Teen Apprentices. Come BUY a bowl and get a bottomless Ice Cream Sundae. We will also have donations for drinks and complimentary snacks! This event is a great way to get some really unique bowls for a great cause! Blues City Swing in Benton Park
