Cherokee Station Business Association Meeting

Thursday, August 18 from 5:30-6:30 pm, Nebula, 3407 S. Jefferson

All business owners, residents, property owners, and anyone with an interest in Cherokee are welcome and encouraged to attend. This month's meeting will be focused on crime and safety. We will discuss specific concerns, solutions and resources to address the safety of everyone in the community and crime that occurs on Cherokee Street. Facebook Invite

Benton Park West Neighborhood Association Meeting

Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Please join us to hear the neighborhood news and have a chance in interact with your neighbors, 3rd District police, aldermen and NSO. We will review upcoming events and activities. Happy Thyme: A Garden Club for Seniors

Fridays from 10:00-12:00 pm, Salvation Army, 2747 Arsenal

The Happy Thyme Garden Club is open to all seniors interested in gardening, whether you're a certified green thumb or looking for a place to learn something new. We'll meet at Temple Gardens, located across from the Salvation Army on Fridays at 10 am. Questions? Call Sara Johnson at 314.606.7794

Cookbook Cover Party at McKinley Meadows

Saturday, August 20 from 12:00-2:00 pm, 2257 Missouri

We will be making covers for our cookbooks by incorporating the native plants that we have at the garden. Could it get more local!? There's no need to bring any special supplies. 3rd Annual Cherokee Street Reach Festival

Saturday, August 20 from 12:00-5:00 pm, Love Bank Park, 2857 Cherokee

DJ, face painting, chess, yoga, break dancing, painting workshop and emergency school supplies are just part of the fun. Check out the Facebook Invite for details.

Folk Filth

Saturday, August 20 from 2:00-9:00 pm, Ruby Francis, 2310 Cherokee

Lauren Busiere will be showcasing her series of shrine art carefully constructed of kitschy salvaged goodies and pop culture icons and imagery, communicating a gorgous and evocative mix of personal and social commentary. Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour

Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac

Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

Kirchweihfest

Sunday, August 21 from 11:00-2:00 pm, German Cultural Society of St. Louis, 3652 S. Jefferson

The Damenchor will sing a German Mass to the accompaniment of the Deutschmeister Brass Band. To be followed by folk dancing, live music, and German food and drink! Facebook Invite

Zumba Classes

Mondays, Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2621 Utah

Curby Church will host Zumba classes on Mondays at 6:00 pm for $5.00 a session. For more info 314-771-0242.

Marine Villa Neighborhood Association Meeting

Monday, August 22 at 7:00 pm, Irish Corner Pub, 1900 Cherokee

CBBA happy hour starts at 6:00 pm meeting at 7:00 pm and we keep it concise. Come out and meet your neighbors, they are a lot cooler than you think! Find out what is going on in your neighborhood and how to participate in community activities that have a positive impact. Puppy Pool Party

Wednesdays at 5:00 pm, Benton Park West Dog Park, 3300 Nebraska

Each Wednesday through Labor Day (weather permitting), we'll host a pool party for the pups! Let your dog cool off while you socialize with the other members. Festival of Nations 2016

Saturday, August 27 & Sunday, August 28, from 10:00-6:00 pm, Tower Grove Park

Join us in Tower Grove Park for the region’s premier multicultural celebration, featuring over 40 ethnic food booths, non-stop dance and music, arts and crafts, and an international bazaar with unique gifts from around the world. Put on each year by the International Institute of St. Louis, it gets bigger and better every year, as it inspires, entertains and showcases the incredible diversity of our region.Admission is Free! Youth 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Master Pieza + Rob Boo and local businesses on Cherokee Street are teaming up to have a youth 3 on 3 basketball tournament for the children in the Cherokee neighborhood and area youth. *Registration ended Aug 15. Facebook Invite
