Louisiana Calm Street Open House

Thursday, February 7 at 4-7 pm, Thomas Dunn Learning Center, 3113 Gasconade

Closing Reception: Tensor Field + Screen Grab

Friday, February 8 at 7-10 pm, Monaco USA, 2701 Cherokee

Please join us on Friday, February 8th, 7:00 - 10:00 pm, when we will host a closing reception for Zachary Buchner, 'Tensor Field' + 'Screen Grab,' featuring Joe Cassen, Andrew Falkowski, Andres Kim and Kate McQuillen, presented by Monaco and PRACTISE.⠀Both exhibits are on view through February 9. Megan Singleton's Solo Exhibit, "Siblings: Out Finding Beauty"

Saturday, February 9 at 5-7 pm, Reese Gallery, 3410 Wisconsin

Megan Singleton’s new body of work, Out Finding Beauty, features her own studio work along side a selection of drawings by her late brother Jeremy, A.K.A Cristo. Singleton reflects upon the inward journey as she transitions after this deep loss. Singleton’s text panels and sculptures are made of handmade paper. Their gestures mimic the motion of her brothers writing. and are transformed into abstract textures on the wall. Her exhibition is a collection of relics engaging the process of remembering and releasing. Neutral color palettes are paired with deep calming shades of indigo. Facebook Invite

Second Saturdays: Gallery Walk

What are heart bombs? Valentines and love letters to historic buildings that are in need of some love. This is your opportunity to pick a building (or two) that you think needs some loving and show our community the importance of SAVING it! We will will meet at Perennial for a valentine crafting session from 10-noon, then we will head to the chosen building (or buildings) and show our love! Facebook Invite

Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour

Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac

Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

Gravois Park Neighborhood Meeting

International Institute St. Louis: Young Friends Meeting

Tuesday, February 12 at 6-7:30 pm, Hall of Nations, 3401 Arsenal

Tiffany Minx, Grants Research and Fund Development Vista at International Institute of St. Louis will be joining us to lead a workshop on securing community sponsorships. She'll be sharing talking points about IISTL and how to successfully fundraise for the Institute and the many programs it supports for our community of immigrants and refugees. We'll be spending the second half of our meeting in breakout teams (Marketing, Sponsorships, Event Donations) to further the planning of Trivia Night: Friday, April 12th. Snacks will be provided! Alpha - South City

Wednesday, February 13 at 6:30-8:30 pm, St. Pius V Catholic Church, 3310 S Grand

Alpha is an invitation for anyone, with or without a faith, to explore Christianity in an open, friendly, and informal environment. Each evening there will be a meal, a talk, and a discussion in small groups. There is no pressure and no follow up. Come and learn more about Alpha, and bring along a friend! Change 4 Cherokee: Love Bank Park

Saturday, February 16 at 10 am-2 pm, Love Bank Park, 2853 Cherokee Join youth from our Cherokee Street neighborhoods as we take an effort to clean up the streets and alleys in our community and neighborhood. As a community effort, we are asking businesses, residents, and other members to help by donating $1 per pound collected. 100% of what is made goes directly back into our summer programming at Love Bank Park. Fire & Ice - Fundraiser for Gateway Art Support

Saturday, February 16 from 6 pm-2 am, Nexcore, 2631 Gravois

The purpose of Fire and Ice is to raise money for Gateway Art Support (GAS), a subsector of the Gateway Burners which provides art grants and funding for the annual Gateway Burn, as well as funding for Arch Reactor's upcoming projects, classes, and innovations. This unusual event is a collaboration of Burner culture and creative technical artistry that promises to be an exciting and welcome reprieve from the frigid Midwest winter.
