2. Co-owners Travis Parfait and Melton will open a new Sister Cities Cajun & BBQ location by Aug.

3. The Earthbound Beer team is currently renovating a 150-year-old former brewery space into a tasting room and brewery worthy of its history.

May 14: New York-based Shmaltz Brewing is releasing its new barrel-aged beer Bock Bock on Cherokee Street this Saturday. Kicking off at 1pm, follow Shmaltz Brewing’s Jeff Doerr as he heads down Cherokee starting at Byrd & Barrel with a special hot sauce made with the signature beer.

One hundred and fifty years after beer fermented at a stockhouse at 2724 Cherokee St., Earthbound Beer is preparing to brew its singular suds in the same space.

The Tug Collective will be in residence at The Luminary from May 14 -20, presenting a series of workshops, a pop-up exhibition and a taco encampment.

At a new restaurant on Cherokee Street, patrons can find everything from authentic Mexican dishes such as tacos, pambazos and huaraches to a few not-so-traditional items like fried rice, gyros and doner kebabs.

Parfait and Melton hope to open the new Sister Cities location by Aug. 1, and in the meantime they’re popping up on Cherokee Street for lunches and dinners.

May 10: E(r)go: A Pop-Up Art Show Opening 2720 Cherokee Performing Arts Center is hosting a pop-up art show opening event tonight from 7-10pm featuring new work from 22 artists, including Calvary Fisher, Shane Rossi, Marvin Yee, Katie Yun, Jun Bae, Dante Migone, Moya Shpuntoff and Callaway Fox.

This Thursday, May 12, celebrate Kitchen Kulture’ last pop-up lunch at Sump Coffee before the big move to the former Pint Size Bakery spot.

Pablo Quezada is the chef/owner of Mexcla (2818 Cherokee Street), which opened last week in the spot that previously held Tarahumara and, before that, Siete Luminarias.

Cherokee Street is becoming a hot place to set up shop in the St .Louis area. Many local businesses and restaurants now call the street their home.

On Saturday, between 40­–50,000 people will descend on Cherokee Street, attending the annual Cinco de Mayo street festival.

This weekend, Tatyana Telnikova plans to open a new bar in the heart of Cherokee Street.
