Cherokee Neighborhoods Happy Hour

21st Annual SLACO Regional Neighborhood Conference

Saturday, October 29 from 7:45 am-5:30 pm, Harris-Stowe State University

The annual SLACO Regional Neighborhood Conference is the St. Louis region's premiere event for helping grassroots neighborhood leaders learn about how other neighborhoods are creating innovative solutions for common problems, how to run an effective neighborhood association, how to think about the causes of neighborhood improvement and decline, and recent plans and initiatives that offer new ways to understand the region and new hope for successful initiatives. Benton Park West Dog Park's Howl-O-Ween Party

Saturday, October 29 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Benton Park West Dog Park, Nebraska at Utah

Benton Park's Halloween Kids Parade

Saturday, October 29 at 3:00 pm, Killeen Architects Studio, 3015 Salena

Bring the kids in costume and we'll march from Killeen's up to Fremont Park. We'll stop at St. Agnes for safe trick-or-treating with the senior citizens.

Hallow-Ganza in Ritz Park

Saturday, October 29 from 6:00-9:00 pm, Ritz Park, 3147 S. Grand

St. Louis Swap Meet - Last One of the Season!

The air is getting chilly, the days are getting shorter, everything is pumpkin flavored and Halloween is right around the corner. That means one thing- it's time to wrap up the Swap Meet for the season. Come on out this last time to visit the shops on Cherokee Street on Antique Row and meet some of our terrific vendors before the end of the year. Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour

Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac

Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

Black Cinema Club - Halloween Edition

Sunday, October 30 from 3:00-6:00 pm, Blank Space, 2847 Cherokee

Each month, we'll show a film significant to the black experience: culturally, socially, and/or politically. .IT'S FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!!! For the month of October, we are having TWO Black Cinema Club screenings! This special edition of BCC will include a double feature of the black horror genre. Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 30 at 4:00 pm, Salvation Army Parking Lot, 2720 Arsenal

Benton Park West will hold its annual Trunk or Treat, a safe Halloween trick or treating for kids. Children ages 14 and younger are welcome! Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Zumba Classes

Mondays, Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2621 Utah

Curby Church will host Zumba classes on Mondays at 6:00 pm for $3-5.00 a session. For more info 314-771-0242.

Trick or Treat on Cherokee Street

Monday, October 31 from 5:00-7:00 pm, Love Bank Park, 2857 Cherokee

Cherokee Street Development League, along with support from community members, Out Hrr Events and Cherokee Street Reach will host a Trick or Treat on Cherokee Street. Families and kids will be able to pick up a treat bag at Love Bank Park, snap a photo in a photo booth, grab a Hot Chocolate and trick or treat at participating businesses along the street. Movie Night on Iowa

Monday, October 31 from 5:00-8:00 pm, 3400 Iowa @ Cherokee

3400 Iowa @ Cherokee will be blocked off, so families can watch movies projected on Earthbound Beer Brewery. We will be showing Lion King and Brave. This event is free and open to the public. Feel free to bring blankets and chairs for your comfort, and food and non-alcoholic drinks for your use. Reminder: There are no bathrooms provided and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Gravois-Jefferson Plan: Public Kickoff Event

Tuesday, November 1 from 6:30-8:00 pm, 2720 Cherokee

Join us for the launch of a community-drive planning process for the Gravois-Jefferson Historic Neighborhoods, encompassing Benton Park West, Gravois Park, and Northeast Dutchtown. Rise Community Development and Dutchtown South Community Corporation, in collaboration with local elected officials and neighborhood organizations, want to hear your voicem questions and ideas about the future of our neighborhoods. Together we will create a community vision and strategy to ensure the long-term growth and vitality of our community. Free childcare and refreshments will be provided. Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl

The Jazz Crawl returns to Cherokee Street in all of its delectable jazz glory. Satisfy your want for exceptional local music, quench your thirst for tastey drinks, swing from place to place to enjoy local eats and cheerful company! We're also excited to bring back Community Dance Day as part of the Crawl to provide free, public dance instruction in swing, hip hop, and other dance styles.
