Below is a list of upcoming activities for Benton Park West area residents.

Zumba Classes

Mondays at 6:00-7:00 pm, Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2621 Utah

Curby Church will host Zumba classes on Mondays from 6-7 pm with a suggested donation of $1-5.00 a session. For more info 314-771-0242. Monday participants, please call Rev. Paula Cooper to discuss very important updates at 314-502-0886.

NOTE TEMPORARY CHANGE OF VENUE: As of Thursday January 21st, the Thursday Zumba instructor from Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church will hold Thursday Zumba classes at the Dunn-Marquette Recreation Center @ 4025 Minnesota Avenue @1:00 PM, for 6 weeks. Due to Curby's low turn-out on Thursdays, the instructor is hoping that the venue change will attract other enthusiastic Zumba-ers who attend the class at recreation center to join us at Curby after those 6 weeks!! The Thursday Zumba classes at the recreation center are FREE.

Adventures and Experiments: A Photography Exhibition

Friday, February 12 from 6:00-8:00 pm, Yeyo Arts Collective, 2907 S. Jefferson

An exhibition of work by student photographers at STLCC Flo Valley.

For the Love of Tacos

Saturday, February 13 from 12:00-3:00 pm, Nebula, 3407 S. Jefferson

When is a better time to hold an all you can eat taco extravaganza other than Valentines Day weekend? Come join the Missourin GSA Network and let out your inner taco lover. You can expect beef, chicken, vegan, and veggie options with lots of different toppings. This free event is a fundraiser for the Missouri GSA Network, to empower trans and queer young activists in Missouri to push back against transphobia and homophobia. No donation is too small. Intended, A Wedding Trunk Show

Saturday, February 13 from 12:00-5:00 pm, Ruby Francis and Photomaton, 2310 and 2308.5 Cherokee

The stores will transform into a wedding shopping wonderland for a day. There will be light refreshments, custom photobooth by Photomaton, prizes, handmade local wedding goods available for purchase and the debut of the new 2016 Intended by Ruby Francis wedding gown collection.

St. Wenceslaus Trivia Night

Saturday, February 13 at 7:00 pm, St. Wenceslaus Parish Hall (school basement), 3022 Oregon

Have an early Valentine's celebration with us! Trivia Night proceeds to benefit St. Wenceslaus. Trivia Night inclues 10 rounds of 10 questions, soda, water, beer and wine, popcorn and pretzels. You're welcome to bring your own food! Doors open at 6:15 pm and trivia begins promptly at 7 pm. Cost is $20 per person; tables limited to 10 players. Black History Month: 25th Annual Ceremony and Dedication

Tuesday, February 16 at 10:00 am, Tower Grove Park, Stupp Center

This year, we will be honoring LeVar Burton. There will also be a tree planting ceremony, in partnership with Shenandoah Elementary. Open to the public, but we'd appreciate an RSVP: 314-771-4484. Facebook Invite

Cherokee Station Business Association Meeting

Thursday, February 18 at 5:30 pm, Nebula, 3400 S. Jefferson

CSBA Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:30pm. All business owners, residents, property owners, and anyone with an interest in Cherokee are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Benton Park West Neighborhood Association Meeting

Thursday, February 18 at 7:00 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Please join us to hear the neighborhood news and have a chance in interact with your neighbors, 3rd District police, aldermen and NSO. We will review upcoming events and activities. Curby Church Family Movie Night

Five Star Senior Center Trivia Night

Saturday, February 20, Doors at 6 pm, Trivia at 7 pm, Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Admission: $25/person or tables of 8, $200. Limited to first 28 tables pain in full. Price includes beer, soda, water and light snacks. Tables are filling fast don't be left out, you know it will be a fun night. Proceeds benefit Five Star Senior Center. For more information call Mike at 314-664-1008.

"Art. Work." Opening Reception

Saturday, February 20 from 6:00-10:00 pm, Westminster Press, 3156 Cherokee

Drawing from ceramics, printmaking, fiber, and weaving, “Art. Work.” examines the relationship between craftsmanship, art labor, entrepreneurship, and fine art. Featured work will be immediately available for purchase, with the majority of proceeds benefiting the artists. Beer, wine, and light refreshments will be provided.
