13 Colors of the Honduran Resistance

Join us in honor of the life & courageous work of the late, Bertha Cáceres, for a beautiful evening of spoken word performances, live music, love & resistance, and a special dinner, to welcome two very esteemed guests, Melissa Cardoza, Afro-Indigenous Freedom Fighter, Poet and Author, of 13 Colors of Resistance, and Karla Lara, Singer/Songwriter of the Struggle. Gravois Park Building Painting Party

GPNA is hosting a building painting event. We're gonna scrap and paint the exterior of the building, repaint posts, curbs, and light poles. We'll also do various other projects to to make our building and parking lot sparkle. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and scrapers, but painting tools will be provided. Questions? Gravois Park Trash Pickup and Social Hour
Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am, Gravois Park, 3200 Potomac
Each Sunday, get to know your neighbors and help make YOUR neighborhood park a better place to play! We'll pick up litter in and around the park while talking and getting to know each other.

GLAMM Leadership Circle Meeting

The Leadership Circle is a network open to leaders of female focused organizations and/or women in leadership. The Circle provides opportunities to share resources, events, needs, connections and the collective ability to leverage these opportunities. Spoken word artist and author Danie James ENT will be a guest artist at the @Glamm Leadership Circle event speaking words of empowerment and celebration of women who make moves. Benton Park West Litter Clean Up and Social Hour
Saturday, May 20, from 9:00-10:00 am, Community Garden, Jefferson at Arsenal
Help beautify our neighborhood and meet your neighbors! Each month we will be cleaning up a different area of our neighborhood. These clean up days will be the Saturday's following the BPW neighborhood meeting. Trash bags will be provided from Operation Bright Side. Feel free to bring gloves or anything else as needed. IndiHop is celebrating its 6th year in The Grove and on Cherokee Street. With a purchased ticket, participants receive a tasting glass and the opportunity to sample 50 different locally brewed and crafted beers. Sample beer inside twenty five businesses in each neighborhood. Shuttles transport folks between neighborhoods and local musicians entertain at each stop. Monthly Local Saxophonist Showcase: #5 Featuring Hugh Jones
